The Syrian Chambers of Commerce Federation and the Syrian-Chinese Business Council signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening trade and investment cooperation between Syria and China. The agreement was signed on the sidelines of the Nas Tex 2026 Syria International Textile Exhibition, in a step intended to expand economic partnerships and open new horizons for cooperation between the business communities of both countries.

In a statement issued on Monday, the Syrian Chambers of Commerce Federation said that the memorandum establishes a framework for joint cooperation across several economic sectors, contributing to the promotion of trade and investment and strengthening communication between business leaders and economic institutions in Syria and China.

The memorandum includes organizing bilateral economic conferences and forums, exchanging economic information and data, supporting partnership and investment opportunities in priority sectors, as well as cooperating in training, technology transfer, and preparing sectoral studies that contribute to improving the business environment and promoting economic development.

The signing of the memorandum coincides with the activities of the Nas Tex 2026 Syria International Textile Exhibition, which opened last Saturday at the Damascus New Fairground. The exhibition has attracted broad participation from business leaders and economic stakeholders from Syria, the Arab region, and abroad, with a strong focus on enhancing investment opportunities and revitalizing the industrial sector, particularly the textile industry, one of Syria’s most important productive sectors.
