A delegation from the Arab Cycling Union, headed by Dr. Yasser Omar Al-Dokhi, President of the Arab Cycling Union, has begun an official three-day visit to the Syrian Arab Republic, aimed at strengthening joint cooperation and following up on preparations for hosting the Arab Cycling Championship, scheduled to be held next October.
The delegation was received by Mr. Rami Subaie, Advisor to the Minister of Sports and Youth, Mr. Abdullah Al-Jazairi, Head of the Individual Games Office, and Mr. Maher Salim, President of the Syrian Cycling Federation, along with members of the Syrian Federation’s Board of Directors.
The Arab Cycling Union delegation includes Dr. Ashraf Sayed Imam, Secretary-General of the Arab Cycling Union, and Mr. Fadi Karash, Executive Director of the Arab Cycling Union.
The visit comes within the framework of strengthening cooperation and coordination between the Arab Cycling Union and the Syrian Cycling Federation. The program includes a series of meetings and discussions addressing ways to develop cycling, enhance its programs and activities, and support the progress of the sport at both the Syrian and Arab levels.
The visit also includes reviewing the latest organizational, technical, and logistical preparations for the Syrian Arab Republic’s hosting of the Arab Cycling Championship, ensuring the organization of a distinguished edition that reflects the advanced status of Arab sports and contributes to the success of this sporting event.
Dr. Yasser Omar Al-Dokhi is also scheduled to hold a series of official meetings with several governmental bodies, including the Ministry of Sports and Youth, the Ministry of Tourism, and the governorates of Damascus and Rural Damascus, to discuss mechanisms for supporting the hosting process, strengthening institutional partnerships, and coordinating joint efforts to deliver an Arab championship that reflects the status of the Syrian Arab Republic and the aspirations of the Arab cycling community.
