As part of the Cultural Partner project and in collaboration with Skoon Space, the first cultural session in Damascus is being launched under the title:

“From Jerusalem to Damascus: The Slopes of Mount Qasioun Give Birth to the Ṣāliḥiyya of Damascus,” presented by Dr. Ammar Al-Nahhar, Professor of Islamic History at the University of Damascus.

The session addresses important milestones in the social and intellectual history of Damascus, shedding light on the story of the establishment of the Ṣāliḥiyya district, the migration of the Al-Qudama family from Nablus to Damascus, and the role this neighborhood played in the flourishing of the city’s scholarly and cultural movement over the centuries. It also opens a window onto the historical and cultural ties that connected the Levant, and explores the impact of these migrations on shaping Damascus’s civilizational landscape.

The session will be held today, Wednesday 17/6, from 7:00 to 8:00 PM, at Skoon Space, located on Al-Abed Street – Harat Al-Saḥi, about 100 meters toward 29 May Street.

Attendance is free, and the invitation is open to all those interested in Damascene history, culture, and heritage.
