The UAE-based airline Flydubai announced on Friday the resumption of its flights to the Syrian city of Aleppo, with daily direct flights to Aleppo International Airport starting from 20 July, in response to the growing demand for travel between Syria and the United Arab Emirates.
With the resumption of these flights, Aleppo becomes the company’s second destination in Syria after Damascus, in a move aimed at strengthening air connectivity and expanding its network in markets witnessing increased travel demand.
Flydubai CEO Ghaith Al Ghaith said the company was pleased to return to Aleppo after a suspension of more than 14 years, noting that the daily flights would provide passengers with direct travel options and contribute to strengthening economic, cultural, and family ties between the UAE and Syria.
For his part, Flydubai Chief Commercial Operations Officer Hamad Obaidalla stated that the resumption of flights to Aleppo comes as an extension of the growing demand for travel between the two countries, following the success of direct flights to the Syrian capital, Damascus
