Under the Patronage of the Ministry of Culture, the National Library in Damascus Hosts a Lecture by Dr. Liqaa Makki on Syria’s Position in the Current Regional Conflict

Under the patronage of the Ministry of Culture, the National Library in Damascus will host an intellectual lecture titled “Syria Amid the Current Regional Conflict,” presented by Dr. Liqaa Makki, Senior Researcher at the Al Jazeera Centre for Studies. The event is part of a series of cultural and intellectual activities aimed at fostering dialogue on political and regional issues of public interest.

The lecture will examine the major developments shaping the region and their implications for Syria’s position amid the current geopolitical transformations. It will also provide an analysis of regional and international power dynamics, while highlighting the key challenges and opportunities arising from the ongoing political and security developments in the Middle East.

The lecture is scheduled to take place at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, 17 July 2026, at the National Library in Damascus, located in Umayyad Square. The event will bring together a distinguished group of researchers, political and cultural experts, as well as members of the public interested in regional affairs.

The Ministry of Culture and the organizing body have invited all interested individuals to attend the lecture and participate in the discussion that will follow, contributing to a constructive exchange of ideas on regional developments and their impact on Syria and the wider region.
