Syrian media professional Muath Muhareb explained that his departure from Al-Ikhbariya TV came as part of a professional move to a new destination, denying rumors that his departure was linked to a decline in the level of freedom or the existence of practices restricting media work within the channel.
In a series of posts on his official account, Muhareb said he appreciated the feelings and support of his followers, as well as their patience, expressing his pride in the experience he shared with the audience of the program “Ala Al-Tawila” (“On the Table”), describing working with them as “a great honor.”
He confirmed that the program will continue to air during the coming period, explaining that a competent and capable media professional will take over its presentation.
Muhareb categorically denied claims that freedoms were being suppressed or that the standards of journalistic work were being lowered at Al-Ikhbariya, noting that his personal experience at the channel was evidence of the degree of freedom he witnessed and experienced during his time there.
The media professional urged followers not to be swayed by rumors or “wrong the channel” through such claims, stressing that his departure was based purely on professional reasons. He concluded his message by expressing his thanks and gratitude to the audience for their interest and continued support.
