The Ministry of Culture, represented by the Directorate of Fine Arts, has announced the opening of applications for participation in the 2026 Syrian Annual Visual Arts Exhibition, held this year under the theme “Art Leaves an Impact.” The initiative aims to attract Syrian artistic experiences from across the spectrum and highlight the creative diversity that characterizes Syria’s visual and fine arts scene.

The Ministry invited Syrian artists, both inside Syria and abroad, to participate by submitting completed artworks or proposals for projects that can be realized. It emphasized that the exhibition does not seek to present a single model of Syrian art; rather, it embraces a plurality of artistic visions and practices while celebrating the diversity of generations, styles, and expressive media.

The exhibition welcomes a wide range of visual art forms, including painting, drawing, sculpture, ceramics, printmaking, Arabic calligraphy, photography, installation art, performance art, video art, sound art, digital art, new media, conceptual art, as well as participatory and interdisciplinary artistic practices.

The Directorate of Fine Arts invited applicants to submit a single PDF file containing the required documents via the designated email address or through WhatsApp. Applications may also be delivered in person to the Directorate’s headquarters in the Al-Afif district of Damascus. The Directorate noted that original artworks should not be submitted until the selection committee announces its final results.

The Ministry has set 3:00 p.m. (Damascus time) on 6 August 2026 as the deadline for receiving applications. Artists are encouraged to review the participation requirements and the list of required materials included in the official announcement and to contact the Directorate of Fine Arts through the published phone numbers or email address for any inquiries related to the exhibition.

The annual Syrian Visual Arts Exhibition is organized as part of the Ministry of Culture’s efforts to support Syria’s visual arts movement and provide a platform that brings together Syrian artists from within the country and abroad. The exhibition aims to foster artistic dialogue and showcase contemporary creative experiences under a theme that affirms that “Art Leaves an Impact” in building awareness and preserving cultural identity.
