The Directorate of Culture in Hama organized an intellectual lecture entitled “Has Syria Been Delayed in Achieving Economic Revival?”, presented by economic advisor Dr. Osama Al-Qadi, with the attendance of a number of individuals interested in economic and cultural affairs.
The lecture addressed the current state of the Syrian economy and explored opportunities for economic recovery and sustainable growth by reviewing the experiences of countries that successfully overcame major challenges and achieved remarkable development within relatively short periods.
Dr. Al-Qadi presented several notable international models, including Vietnam, South Korea, West Germany, and Singapore, explaining the economic and administrative policies that contributed to their success. These included investment in education, strengthening productive sectors, attracting investment, developing infrastructure, and establishing a legislative environment that supports economic growth.
The lecture also highlighted the key lessons that can be drawn from these experiences and discussed how they could be adapted to Syria’s current circumstances. It emphasized the importance of adopting long-term economic strategies based on scientific planning, benefiting from international expertise, and encouraging both the public and private sectors to participate in reconstruction and development efforts.
This event is part of the cultural and intellectual activities organized by the Directorate of Culture in Hama to promote dialogue on national issues and raise awareness of the importance of economic development in supporting Syria’s recovery and reconstruction.
