Minister of Culture Mohammad Yassin Al-Saleh held talks with Jordanian Minister of Culture Mustafa Nasser Mustafa Al-Rawashdeh at the Jordanian Ministry of Culture headquarters in Amman. The discussions focused on strengthening cultural cooperation between Syria and Jordan, expanding cultural and artistic exchange, and exploring mechanisms to activate joint programs and projects that contribute to deepening cultural relations between the two countries.
During the meeting, both sides emphasized the importance of enhancing communication between Syrian and Jordanian cultural institutions and exchanging expertise across various cultural fields, in a way that positively reflects on the cultural landscape in both countries and supports broader Arab cultural and creative cooperation.
Following the meeting, Minister Al-Saleh visited the Royal Cultural Center in Amman, where he toured its facilities and learned about its role in hosting cultural, artistic, and theatrical events, as well as supporting creative activities that attract large audiences at both the national and Arab levels. He also received a briefing on the center’s annual programs and activities.
The visit also included the Jordan National Library Department, where the minister was introduced to the institution’s methods for preserving national documents, manuscripts, and historical archives, as well as its efforts to document the national memory and digitize its collections using modern technologies, helping preserve cultural and historical heritage for future generations and researchers.
In another stop, Minister Al-Saleh visited the Museum of Parliamentary Life, where he viewed its historical collections and documents that chronicle the development of parliamentary life in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. He was briefed on the various stages of the country’s parliamentary development and the museum’s role in preserving this national heritage and introducing visitors to Jordan’s parliamentary experience.
The visit is part of the Minister of Culture’s cultural program in Jordan, which aims to expand cooperation between cultural institutions in both countries and promote the exchange of expertise and experience in the fields of culture and heritage, thereby strengthening the brotherly relations between Syria and Jordan and paving the way for joint cultural initiatives in the coming period.
