Mechanism Discussed for the Return of Displaced Kurdish Families to Raqqa

Dimasheq – News

Al-Hasakah Governor Nour al-Din Ahmad confirmed that his meeting with Raqqa Governor Abdulrahman Salama focused on addressing the issue of Kurdish families displaced from the province during the recent events, describing the outcomes of the discussions as highly positive.

Ahmad explained that both sides discussed establishing a mechanism to ensure the safe and dignified return of approximately 1,800 Kurdish families. Of these, 1,200 families were received by Ayn al-Arab (Kobani), while 600 families were sheltered in Al-Hasakah Governorate.

He noted that efforts are continuing to create suitable conditions for their return as soon as possible, indicating that the relevant authorities have worked to vacate occupied homes and clear landmines from villages and surrounding areas to ensure the safety of returning residents.

The meeting also addressed the condition of homes that suffered significant material damage in several villages. It was agreed to provide logistical support to affected families, while reaffirming that all private properties will be returned to their rightful owners without conditions.
