The Applied Arts Center in Latakia hosted a special art workshop for children as part of the “Child Week” program organized by the Directorate of Culture in Latakia. The workshop aimed to nurture children’s artistic sense and encourage them to express their ideas and emotions through creative activities.
The workshop featured the creation of three-dimensional models using modeling clay, giving participants the opportunity to use their imagination and transform their ideas into a variety of artistic works. The resulting creations reflected the children’s talents, creativity, and unique ability to design imaginative shapes inspired by their own ideas.
The workshop was held in an interactive learning environment that combined instruction with hands-on practice. Children were introduced to the basics of sculpture and model-making, as well as techniques for working with artistic materials, before creating their own projects under the guidance of the workshop supervisors. This practical experience helped enhance their manual skills while developing concentration, precision, and creative thinking.
The event highlighted the importance of artistic activities in shaping children’s personalities, strengthening their self-confidence, discovering emerging talents, and encouraging self-expression through innovative artistic methods. It also reflected the objectives of the “Child Week” program, which seeks to provide a stimulating cultural and educational environment that combines learning with enjoyment while promoting children’s creative and cognitive development.
