Poet and scholar Dr. Mishal Al-Zoubi spoke, during his participation in the “Mathayel” Nabati Poetry Competition, about his participation in the first Damascus International Festival of Arabic Poetry and the honor he received from the Syrian Ministry of Culture.

Al-Zoubi said that he was invited by the Syrian Ministry of Culture to participate in the festival, where he performed a poetry evening on the first day at the Syrian Opera House, before being honored by the ministry. He expressed his hope that he had been deserving of the recognition.

Al-Zoubi considered his honor to be a recognition of the “Mathayel” team and all his colleagues, stressing that the program represents an important milestone in his poetic career. He dedicated the honor to his fellow team members.

He highlighted the significance of the recognition, noting that it came alongside prominent Arab poets, including Kuwaiti poet Suad Al-Sabah, Lebanese poet Chawki Bzi‘, and Qatari poet Hassan Al-Ni’mah. He considered the fact that the honor was bestowed in Damascus, the capital of Arabic poetry, to give it a special value.
