Dimasheq

The Ministry of Health confirmed that the culture results of samples taken from patients suspected of having cholera in the Masyaf area in the Hama countryside were negative, noting that laboratory and environmental tests are still ongoing to identify the factor responsible for the reported cases.

The ministry explained that the number of people who visited Masyaf National Hospital reached 620 cases, in addition to a limited number of cases that sought treatment at private hospitals in the area.

It stated that the daily distribution of cases included 106 cases recorded on July 11, 92 cases on July 12, 271 cases on July 13, 76 cases on July 14, and 75 cases on July 15.

The ministry added that 38 cases required hospital admission, including 23 children and 15 adults. All of them were discharged after their health conditions stabilized, with no deaths reported.

It also indicated that tests conducted on part of the water samples confirmed their microbiological safety, considering the negative cholera test results a reassuring indicator.

The Ministry of Health called on citizens to adhere to preventive measures, including using safe drinking water, washing hands thoroughly with soap and water, and ensuring that vegetables and fruits are properly cleaned before consumption.
