Minister of Culture Mohammad Yassin Al-Saleh inaugurated the public library in the city of Moadamiyat al-Sham, making it the first public library to open in Rural Damascus after the liberation, as part of ongoing efforts to revive cultural institutions and expand public access to knowledge.
The library was officially opened following the completion of its rehabilitation, carried out by the Moadamiyat al-Sham City Council in cooperation with the Mars Organization. It has been transformed into a cultural and community hub that will host reading activities, educational programs, and a variety of cultural events.
The library offers a diverse collection of books covering culture, history, science, and literature, in addition to novels and children’s stories. It also provides computers for internet access and digital browsing, as well as a dedicated children’s section, reinforcing its role as a cultural and educational center that promotes knowledge and encourages a culture of reading among all members of the community.
