The Syrian Petroleum Company announced on Monday the restart of the Banias Refinery following the completion of engineering maintenance works carried out by technical and engineering teams within the scheduled timeframe.
The company confirmed, through its official platforms, that the maintenance work contributed to enhancing the refinery’s operational readiness and strengthening its capacity to supply the local market with petroleum products.
The Director of Engineering Maintenance, Hamza Al-Warra’a, stated that the works required a full shutdown of the refinery and included the distillation, upgrading, and hydrotreating units, in addition to steam networks across various sections.
Al-Warra’a added that the most significant tasks carried out included welding the live steam manifold line, servicing the reduction station, and maintaining the electrical connection valves of the boilers, as well as cable connection works and supplying power to the fans in the upgrading unit.
