Syrian National Library Launches Directorate of Research, Translation and Publishing and First Issue of “Heritage and Libraries” Magazine

Dimasheq – Culture

The Syrian National Library is preparing to launch the Directorate of Research, Translation and Publishing, in a step aimed at strengthening research and cultural activity. The launch will coincide with the publication of the first issue of “Heritage and Libraries” magazine, during a ceremony to be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at the headquarters of the Syrian National Library in Damascus.

The library explained that the launch of the new directorate comes as part of efforts to develop its cultural and academic work and support research, translation, and publishing initiatives. The directorate will contribute to preserving and safeguarding Syrian heritage, enhancing its presence within academic and cultural circles, and expanding the production and accessibility of knowledge for researchers and those interested in the field.

The event will coincide with the publication of the first issue of “Heritage and Libraries” magazine, which focuses on heritage, manuscripts, libraries, and knowledge studies. The magazine seeks to provide a specialized academic platform that sheds light on these fields.

The Syrian National Library invited researchers, cultural affairs enthusiasts, and the public to attend the launch ceremony, which will be held at the Syrian National Library in Damascus at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The library emphasized that the event is open to the public, expressing hope that the new directorate and magazine will constitute a significant addition to the Syrian cultural scene and contribute to preserving national heritage and disseminating knowledge.
