As part of the Intangible Cultural Heritage Week and on the occasion of World Environment Day, the Hama Directorate of Culture organized a cultural and heritage event titled “Our Heritage Is Our Legacy… Cleanliness Is Our Commitment.” The event was attended by Mr. Ayman Abdul Rahman, Member of the Executive Office for Culture, Media, Sports, and Antiquities; Mr. Mohammad Al-Omar, Director of the Hama Directorate of Culture; and Mr. Ali Al-Mohammad, Syria’s Childhood Ambassador.
The event featured an art exhibition showcasing the beauty of the environment while highlighting the importance of keeping the city clean as a value deeply rooted in the community’s cultural heritage. It also included the “Little Storyteller” competition, aimed at developing children’s public speaking and storytelling skills while reviving this traditional heritage art. In addition, a variety of interactive, educational, and recreational activities and competitions were organized for children.
The event concluded with an award ceremony honoring the winners of the “Little Storyteller” competition, in recognition of their talents and as encouragement to further develop their creative abilities and strengthen awareness of the importance of protecting the environment
