As part of its efforts to strengthen communication with key figures in the cultural sector, the Directorate of Cultural Relations at the Ministry of Culture organized a consultative meeting with a group of visual artists at Al-Azm Palace in Damascus. The event marked the launch of the “Cultural Consultative Meetings in Syria” series, beginning with a session dedicated to the visual arts.

The meeting provided an open platform for dialogue between representatives of the Ministry of Culture and participating artists. Discussions focused on the current state of Syria’s visual arts movement, the major challenges facing artists, ways to support artistic production, and opportunities to develop the cultural infrastructure in line with the aspirations of the artistic community.

The Ministry emphasized that these meetings reflect an approach based on partnership, active listening to artists, and benefiting from their expertise in order to shape more effective cultural policies and strengthen the role of art in cultural and public life.

The consultative meetings are scheduled to continue in the coming period, expanding to include various cultural sectors and stakeholders across Syrian governorates. The initiative aims to promote a culture of dialogue, broaden participation in cultural decision-making, and contribute to the continued development and stronger presence of Syria’s cultural landscape.
