Minister of Culture Mohammad Yassin Al-Saleh met with the European Union Delegation to Syria, headed by Michael Ohnmacht, to discuss prospects for strengthening cultural cooperation between the two sides. The meeting was attended by several directors of the ministry’s central departments.
The discussions focused on enhancing cooperation in the fields of heritage preservation, support for the arts, and the development of training programs, as well as initiatives aimed at revitalizing Syria’s cultural landscape.
The Minister emphasized the importance of expanding cooperation and embracing initiatives that support the cultural sector, particularly in the restoration of heritage sites and the organization of artistic, musical, and theatrical activities to promote cultural engagement.
For his part, Ohnmacht expressed the European Union Delegation’s interest in broadening cultural cooperation programs, supporting archaeological site restoration projects, organizing joint cultural events, and launching initiatives that strengthen cultural exchange.
The meeting concluded with both sides reaffirming the importance of maintaining coordination to advance joint cultural initiatives and expand opportunities for cooperation in the coming period.
