Minister of Culture Mohammad Yassin Al-Saleh inaugurated the Jiroud Private Museum of Folk Heritage in the presence of Qatar’s Minister of Culture, Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al Thani, Minister of Emergency and Disaster Management Raed Al-Saleh, as well as a number of ambassadors, government officials, and figures interested in culture and heritage.
The museum represents a significant addition to Syria’s cultural landscape, showcasing a rich collection of artifacts and folk heritage that reflects various aspects of the country’s national identity. Its exhibits document traditional lifestyles, customs, and social traditions that have formed an integral part of Syria’s collective memory throughout different historical periods.
The inauguration comes as part of the Ministry of Culture’s ongoing efforts to preserve Syria’s tangible and intangible cultural heritage, strengthen its presence within the cultural sphere, and support initiatives dedicated to safeguarding and documenting the nation’s cultural and social legacy.
