The activities of the Syrian Gathering for Arabic Calligraphy and Ornamentation continue into their fourth day, with a diverse presence of calligraphers, artists, and enthusiasts of lettering arts. The gathering brings together the aesthetics of Arabic calligraphy, its artistic foundations, and the techniques associated with it.
The fourth day features continued training workshops covering various schools and styles of Arabic calligraphy, giving participants the opportunity to explore the aesthetic and structural characteristics of each style, as well as its principles, rules, and stages of development.
The gathering’s workshops combine theoretical knowledge with practical application. Participants practice writing letters and their compositions while learning about the tools and techniques used in each calligraphic school under the supervision of specialized calligraphers. This enables them to develop their skills and benefit from the experience of practitioners.
The gathering’s activities are not limited to teaching the rules of calligraphy. They also provide a space for dialogue and the exchange of expertise among participants, strengthening the presence of Arabic calligraphy and ornamentation while preserving this artistic heritage as an integral part of Syria’s cultural and artistic identity.
Through its diverse workshops and calligraphic schools, the gathering continues to present the Arabic letter as an art that can be learned and renewed—an art that combines precision and beauty, as well as the authenticity of established rules with the spirit of creativity.
On its fourth day, the journey of the letter continues, one letter at a time, keeping spaces of art open for new generations to discover and develop the beauty of Arabic calligraphy.
