Launch of the Syrian–Emirati Investment Forum in Damascus with the Participation of a High-Level Emirati Delegation
The Syrian government received, on Sunday, an Emirati delegation that arrived at Damascus International Airport on an official visit to participate in the Syrian–Emirati Investment Forum hosted by the Syrian capital, Damascus. The Emirati delegation was headed by Minister of State for Foreign Trade Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, alongside the Chairman of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, and Zakat, Omar Habtoor Al Darei.
The delegation was welcomed on the Syrian side by Minister of Economy and Industry Nidal Al-Shaar, Minister of Endowments Mohammad Abu Al-Khair Shukri, and the head of the Syrian Investment Authority, Talal Al-Hilali.
The forum’s activities are scheduled to commence today, Monday, at the Ebla Hotel in Damascus through a series of workshops and specialized sessions aimed at showcasing the investment opportunities available in Syria. The event seeks to strengthen economic and investment cooperation between the two countries and expand prospects for partnership across various developmental and productive sectors.
In a related context, President Ahmad Al-Sharaa received an Emirati economic delegation at the People’s Palace in Damascus, headed by businessman Mohamed Ali Rashed Alabbar, in the presence of Foreign and Expatriates Minister Asaad Al-Shaibani. The two sides discussed investment and development opportunities available in Syria, as well as ways to enhance economic cooperation during the coming phase.
