Several industrialists participating in the Syria International Textile Exhibition “Nass Tex 2026” stressed that revitalizing the textile sector requires close cooperation between government institutions and the private sector to develop production infrastructure, secure manufacturing inputs, and provide the necessary incentives to enhance the competitiveness of Syrian products in both domestic and international markets.

Speaking to SANA, industrialist Samer Mustafa said that Syria’s textile industry possesses extensive expertise and a well-established industrial base, but it requires greater support, particularly in securing raw materials and reducing production costs. He noted that these measures would improve product quality and strengthen competitiveness.

Meanwhile, industrialist Samir Aqili, a specialist in sewing machinery, emphasized the importance of modernizing production lines and encouraging investment in advanced technologies. He added that specialized exhibitions provide valuable opportunities to expand business networks, promote Syrian products, and conclude new contracts and partnerships.

Industrialist Kamal Al-Asali highlighted that stable energy supplies, along with simplified import and export procedures, are among the most important factors for increasing production and opening new markets. He also underscored the importance of continuing to organize specialized exhibitions that bring together manufacturers, traders, and investors under one roof.

The participants agreed that Syria’s textile industry still has the potential to regain its leading position thanks to national expertise, skilled professionals, and the high quality of many locally manufactured products. They expressed hope that supportive measures would boost production and increase exports in the coming period.

The Syria International Textile Exhibition “Nass Tex 2026” serves as a platform bringing together local companies, investors, and stakeholders in the textile sector to showcase the latest products and technologies, explore opportunities for cooperation, and expand partnerships, thereby supporting national industry and strengthening its presence in local and international markets.
