The National Library in Damascus, under the patronage of the Syrian Ministry of Culture and in cooperation with Riad El-Rayyes Books and Publishing, will host a special cultural event featuring a book signing and discussion of “The Hidden Story of Assad’s Fall and Ahmad Al-Sharaa’s Vision” by Lebanese writer and journalist Mounir Al-Rabie. The event will take place on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at the National Library headquarters in Umayyad Square.
The event will begin at 4:00 p.m. and will be attended by a distinguished group of intellectuals, media professionals, and individuals interested in political and cultural affairs. Al-Rabie will sign copies of his new book before participating in an open discussion moderated by writer and journalist Ibrahim Al-Jabin.
The book, which has attracted considerable attention since its publication, offers an analysis of the events and transformations that Syria has witnessed in recent years. It sheds light on the circumstances surrounding the fall of former President Bashar al-Assad’s regime and explores Ahmad Al-Sharaa’s vision for the country’s future, as well as the political and social challenges facing Syria in the current phase.
The discussion between Al-Jabin and Al-Rabie is expected to address the book’s key ideas and conclusions, in addition to examining regional and international developments related to the Syrian situation and the possible paths toward rebuilding state institutions and public life.
This event is part of a broader series of cultural and intellectual activities hosted by the National Library in Damascus, aimed at promoting public dialogue on contemporary political and intellectual issues and providing readers and researchers with opportunities to engage directly with authors and leading intellectual and media figures.
