The Governor of Homs, , laid the foundation stone for the “Al Salam Mall” project in the Al-Inshaat neighborhood of . The project will be built on an area of approximately 5,000 square meters at the site of the former automated bakery and is being implemented through a public-private partnership model, with completion expected within 18 months.
Deputy Minister of Economy and Industry, , stated that the project represents a model that could be replicated across Syria. He explained that it will include a modern bakery and an integrated commercial complex aimed at meeting the needs of the city’s residents.
Al-Hassan noted that the project aligns with the plans of the to develop the bakery sector. It also supports the Ministry of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection’s efforts to expand retail outlets, while contributing to the enhancement of infrastructure and the increase of commercial and service centers in Homs Governorate.
For his part, , one of the project’s shareholders, explained that the construction phase is expected to create around 2,500 temporary jobs in the building and construction sector. Once operational, the project will provide more than 500 permanent jobs in retail stores, service facilities, and entertainment venues.
