The Ministry of Culture, through its Cultural Relations Department and under the supervision of Yasmin Marai, has launched a series of field visits across several Syrian provinces as part of its efforts to enhance direct communication with cultural actors and activate the role of cultural centers in different regions.
The specialized team began its tours by visiting a number of branch cultural centers in the Homs countryside. The first phase included the cultural centers of Marmarita, Talkalakh, and Al-Ghantou. These visits aim to assess the local cultural landscape and identify active cultural and creative talents in these areas, contributing to broader cultural participation and strengthening the presence of cultural activities and programs at the local level.
This initiative is part of the Ministry’s plan to establish a comprehensive database of intellectuals, artists, and individuals interested in cultural affairs across all provinces. The database is intended to create a more effective communication network between the Ministry and local communities, helping to identify cultural needs and direct programs in accordance with the specific characteristics of each region.
Through these field visits, the Ministry also seeks to involve cultural actors in the planning of future events and activities by adopting a participatory approach that ensures the utilization of local expertise and supports the development of cultural initiatives that contribute to sustainable cultural development.
The visits are scheduled to continue in the coming period, covering the remaining main and branch cultural centers throughout the Syrian provinces. The resulting proposals and cultural projects will be incorporated into the Ministry of Culture’s strategy and implementation plans for the coming year.
