The Ministry of Culture celebrated World Music Day by organizing a series of artistic and musical events at several cultural and public venues across Damascus. The celebrations featured various musical and vocal ensembles as part of the Ministry’s efforts to support the arts and strengthen the presence of music as a universal language that promotes beauty and cultural communication.

The events witnessed remarkable public attendance and enthusiastic engagement from music and art lovers. The band Sham Jazz performed a concert beside the National Museum of Damascus, presenting a selection of musical pieces that blended contemporary styles with local musical identity, creating a distinctive artistic atmosphere.

In addition, Al-Umayyad Garden hosted a vocal performance by the Tanaghom Choir, which presented a repertoire of songs that received wide appreciation from the audience and contributed to a festive atmosphere reflecting the significance of music and its role in enhancing social and cultural interaction.

As part of the celebrations, students of the Solhi Al-Wadi Institute of Music, affiliated with the Ministry of Culture, presented a musical concert showcasing their advanced artistic skills and highlighting their talents and creativity in instrumental performance and music. The concert reaffirmed the importance of educational and cultural institutions in nurturing young talents and developing their artistic abilities.

These activities were organized within the framework of World Music Day celebrations, observed annually on June 21. The occasion serves as a global celebration of musical arts and highlights music’s role in building bridges of communication among peoples and cultures while promoting the values of creativity, dialogue, and openness.
