The head of the Syrian Artists Syndicate, Mazen Al-Natour, revealed that he had been in contact with Lebanese singer Fadel Shaker, confirming that he had officially invited him to visit Syria and perform a concert there, following Shaker’s appointment as an honorary member of the Syrian Artists Syndicate.
Al-Natour said, according to what was reported by Fuchsia, that he had spoken with Fadel Shaker by phone, stressing his commitment to inviting him to visit Syria and hold a concert at one of its venues.
He explained that the date of the visit or concert has not yet been determined, noting that this depends on the circumstances Shaker is currently facing, particularly the period of medical treatment and recovery he is undergoing in the Qatari capital, Doha.
Following the announcement of Shaker’s honorary membership, Al-Natour had issued an open invitation to him to return to the artistic scene, welcoming his visit to Syria and his performance of concerts there, and stressing that Syria is “his second home.”
Earlier, the Syrian Artists Syndicate granted Fadel Shaker honorary membership in a move it said was in recognition of his artistic career and his humanitarian positions toward the Syrian people.
Shaker welcomed the decision through the “Stories” feature on his Instagram account, thanking Al-Natour and the Syrian people, expressing his pride in receiving the honorary membership, and wishing the Syrian people happiness.
