Interior Minister Appoints Brigadier General Ahmad Farzat Al-Hamdi as Head of Internal Security in Hama Governorate

Dimasheq

Syrian Interior Minister Anas Khattab has issued a decision appointing Brigadier General Ahmad Farzat Al-Hamdi as Head of Internal Security in Hama Governorate, as part of the ministry’s organizational measures aimed at strengthening the security system and supporting its leadership with qualified personnel and experienced officers.

According to the Ministry of Interior, Brigadier General Al-Hamdi was born in 1988 and graduated from the Military College before defecting from the institutions of the former regime in early 2012 and joining the ranks of the Syrian revolution.

During the years of the revolution, Al-Hamdi participated in military operations in the Jabal al-Zawiya area in the Idlib countryside. He later joined the General Security Service following its establishment in 2018, where he held several security positions. He served as head of the Mahmbal Security Detachment, then as head of the Jisr al-Shughur City Security Department, before being appointed in 2021 as head of security for the Jisr al-Shughur area, a position he held until the fall of the former regime.

Following the overthrow of the Assad regime, Al-Hamdi was appointed Director of the Protection and Diplomatic Security Department at the Ministry of Interior. A subsequent decision appointed him Head of Internal Security in Hama Governorate, as part of the ministry’s ongoing appointments aimed at restructuring security institutions and enhancing their performance across the governorates.
