Syrian governorates are witnessing a rich program of cultural, artistic, intellectual, and recreational activities today, Thursday, July 30, 2026. The program includes lectures, seminars, workshops, film screenings, musical and theatrical performances, as well as activities dedicated to children and young people, as part of the daily cultural agenda.
In Damascus, activities are spread across several venues, including children’s film screenings at Kindi Cinema in Dummar and City Damascus Cinema, as well as a participatory workshop entitled “Towards a Vision for Damascus: Heritage and Environment Workshop” at the Emir Abdelkader al-Jazairi Palace. The program also features an intellectual lecture entitled “Why Have We Fallen Behind While Others Have Progressed?”, and a literary salon discussing “Literature in the Mirror of Psychoanalysis.” The Opera House is also hosting a musical and singing evening entitled “Syria, Land of Peace,” performed by the Music Academy Orchestra and Choir for children, young people, and youth.
In Rural Damascus, activities for children and young people continue through educational workshops and poetry mornings, alongside health and educational lectures and a youth evening. The program also includes a discussion panel addressing the priorities of the next stage and the role of the People’s Assembly.
In Hama, the agenda includes a discussion session marking the anniversary of the 2012 Hama massacre, an artistic performance for children, and a health lecture on summer illnesses and ways to prevent them.
In Idlib, the Cultural Center is hosting the “Syria Summer for the Family” festival, offering a range of recreational and cultural activities for all family members.
Tartous Governorate is hosting a diverse program that includes training workshops for children in mental arithmetic, artistic and cultural activities, and the opening of the 14th edition of the “Dalbeh Mashta al-Helou” Festival. The program also features film screenings, educational workshops, heritage sessions, and a forum for promising talents.
In Latakia, the Arab Cultural Center in Al-Haffah is holding a workshop to teach crochet to women. Meanwhile, Aleppo Governorate is hosting a series of lectures and awareness sessions on combating drug abuse, in addition to a book discussion session, a religious lecture, a film screening, and a theatrical performance, as well as commercial movie screenings at Al-Zahraa Cinema.
In Deir ez-Zor, the day’s program concludes with a storytelling evening for children entitled “Between Germany and Syria… A Family Writes… A Family Tells Stories,” at the Arab Cultural Center, with the participation of a number of writers and children.
Today’s cultural agenda reflects the diversity of activities and programs hosted by cultural centers and artistic institutions across the various governorates, contributing to the revitalization of cultural life and strengthening community participation, while providing activities that cater to different age groups.
