Under the patronage of the Ministry of Culture, the Abu Tammam Festival—honoring the renowned poet of Hauran and native of the historic city of Jasim—will be held at the Cultural Center in Daraa on June 28 and 29, starting at 4:30 p.m.
The festival celebrates the legacy of the distinguished poet Abu Tammam and highlights his enduring place in Arab cultural memory as one of the pioneers of innovation in Arabic poetry. His literary contributions enriched Arabic literature with timeless works that continue to resonate within the Arab cultural consciousness.
The festival will feature a variety of cultural and literary activities exploring Abu Tammam’s life and poetic achievements, including poetry readings, literary presentations, and critical discussions examining his influence on the development of Arabic poetry. The event will also commemorate his status as one of the notable sons of Jasim who contributed to the enrichment of Arab and Islamic civilization.
