The Turkish daily Yeni Şafak, in an article published today, Thursday, highlighted the new book by Syrian writer and researcher Ibrahim Al-Jabin, From Faisal I to Ahmad al-Sharaa: Syria’s Defining Moments, describing it as a historical reading that spans from King Faisal I’s entry into Damascus, through the transformations of the Syrian state, to the fall of Bashar al-Assad’s regime and the beginning of a new phase.
The article, prepared by journalist Suda Dursun, notes that the book examines the political, social, and intellectual transformations Syria has experienced over the course of a century. It places current developments within the context of the historical experience of the Syrian state, rather than focusing solely on contemporary political events.
The coverage also highlights the Turkish dimension addressed in the book, including what the report describes as Turkey’s support for the Syrian people and their revolution, its reception of millions of Syrians, as well as the prospects for relations between the two countries in the coming phase.
According to Yeni Şafak, the book is currently being translated into Turkish and will be published by Farabi Publishing House.
