Dimasheq Foundation and German War Child Association Activate Charitable Kitchens in Rural Damascus and Idlib

Dimasheq – Special Report

The Dimasheq Foundation for Culture, Thought, Arts and Development, in cooperation with the German War Child Association, represented in Syria by scientist Dr. Adnan Wahoud, has activated charitable kitchens in rural Damascus and Idlib as part of joint efforts to support low-income families and the most vulnerable groups. The initiative seeks to strengthen humanitarian efforts aimed at providing Syrians with essential food supplies.

The charitable kitchen in the town of Ain Tarma, in rural Damascus, provides free meals to more than 1,000 Syrian citizens every day. The initiative aims to ease the cost-of-living burden on families in need, particularly households that have lost their breadwinners or face difficulties meeting their daily needs.

According to the campaign organisers, the activation of the charitable kitchen forms part of broader efforts to promote social solidarity and expand assistance to low-income families amid the living challenges facing segments of Syrian society.

The initiative falls within the framework of cooperation between the Dimasheq Foundation and the German War Child Association, following the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the two parties last month. The agreement aims to coordinate joint efforts and bring activities supported by the German association under the foundation’s umbrella, helping expand humanitarian and community initiatives across Syria.

The activation of the charitable kitchen highlights the importance of humanitarian partnerships in supporting local initiatives and providing direct assistance to the most vulnerable groups. Particular attention is given to families that have lost their sources of income or breadwinners, through the provision of free meals that help meet some of their basic needs.

Further humanitarian and community initiatives are expected to emerge from the cooperation between the two parties in the coming period, according to the initiative’s organisers. These efforts aim to broaden joint activities and strengthen support for families in need across Syria.

An Agreement to Strengthen Humanitarian Initiatives

Last month, the Dimasheq Foundation for Culture, Thought, Arts and Development signed a memorandum of understanding with the German War Child Association to strengthen cooperation in implementing humanitarian and community initiatives and to coordinate the association’s activities in Syria under the foundation’s umbrella.

The agreement comes at a time when segments of Syrian society continue to face living challenges, making initiatives that provide food and essential assistance an important means of supporting the most vulnerable families.
