Minister of Culture Mohammad Yassin Al-Saleh affirmed that, since the formation of the Syrian government, the Ministry of Culture has worked alongside various ministries to promote the principles of transitional justice and strengthen legal and social awareness, in line with the vision of “Victory Without Revenge,” which reflects the aspirations of the new Syria.
He stated that the Ministry is continuing this path through the theatrical production “Rehearsal of Judgment Day,” directed by Maher Salibi and written by Fares Al-Dhahabi. The play explores the concept of justice from the perspective of ordinary members of society, bringing their humanitarian concerns to the stage.
Al-Saleh added that playwright Fares Al-Dhahabi successfully presented a theatrical vision that renewed attention to the issue of Syrian women detainees, highlighting their sacrifices and the suffering they endured in their pursuit of freedom.
The Minister also expressed the Ministry’s pride in its partnership with Syrian artists, praising the outstanding performances of Yara Sabri, Roubeen Issa, and Jaber Joukhadar, whose performances deeply moved the audience and helped convey the play’s humanitarian message.
He concluded by emphasizing that the doors of Syrian creativity will remain open to all artists committed to serving Syrian culture and contributing to the rebuilding of the state and society after decades of suffering caused by what he described as a “culture of destruction.”
