Under the patronage of the Ministry of Culture, the theatrical production “Rehearsal of Judgment Day” premiered at Al-Hamra Theatre in Damascus, attended by Minister of Culture Mohammad Yassin Al-Saleh and the Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Syria, Khalifa bin Abdullah Al Mahmoud Al Sharif.
The production is presented by the Damascus Theatre Company in cooperation with the Directorate of Theatres and Music and the Damascus Foundation for Culture, Thought, Arts, and Development. It aims to support the Syrian theatre movement, strengthen its presence within the country’s cultural scene, and provide Syrian artists with a platform to present works addressing pressing humanitarian and social issues.
Written by Fares Al-Dhahabi and directed by Maher Salibi, the play explores the theme of transitional justice. The cast features a distinguished group of Syrian actors, including Yara Sabri, Robin Issa, and Jaber Joukhadar.
The play is scheduled to run in Damascus until 30 June, before moving to Aleppo at the beginning of July.
