Two Mega UAE Projects in Syria Worth Over $50 Billion
UAE-based Eagle Hills is exploring the implementation of two major urban development projects in Syria, with total planned investments exceeding $50 billion, according to an informed source who spoke to Asharq on condition of anonymity.
This initiative coincides with the visit of a high-level Emirati delegation to Damascus, which began on Monday. The delegation includes prominent business figures and representatives of major companies, among them the company’s founder and chairman, Mohamed Alabbar. The visit aims to participate in the first Syrian-Emirati forum and to explore investment opportunities across the country.
According to documents reviewed by Asharq, the first project is located in the Dummar area of Damascus and spans approximately 33 million square meters. It involves a comprehensive, mixed-use urban development featuring residential units, hotels, and extensive commercial facilities.
The plan includes around 73,000 residential units and approximately 3,200 hotel rooms, in addition to more than 7 million square meters of green spaces designated for parks and public amenities. It also incorporates a road network ranging between 220 and 320 kilometers in length.
The second project is situated in Latakia, on the Syrian coast, covering an estimated area of 15 million square meters. It aims to establish an integrated residential and tourism development.
