Syrian actress Roubin Issa, a participant in the play “Rehearsal of Judgment Day,” stated in an interview with Damascus News Platform that the performance addresses a humanitarian issue affecting female survivors of detention, shedding light on their psychological and social suffering and the challenges they face in rebuilding their lives.
Issa explained that the theatrical work attempts to delve into the psychological worlds of survivors and present the consequences of the harsh experiences they endured, while also highlighting their needs and pain, with the aim of conveying this human suffering to the audience through theatre.
She stressed that the responsibility of supporting survivors is not limited to art alone, but requires serious follow-up from relevant authorities, including providing job opportunities, ensuring psychological support, and establishing associations and safe spaces that allow women to express their experiences and needs.
She added: “We can do a lot, we can offer a lot, and we must embrace them greatly,” emphasizing the importance of standing by survivors and supporting them in their journey of recovery and social reintegration.
